PRIVACY
Your data, without the mystery.
PlanMyDay is built so that almost nothing about you needs to leave your device. There is no account, no password and no profile. This page sets out exactly what happens to your information.
Who is responsible
PlanMyDay is run by Laura Angel, who is the data controller for the purposes of UK data protection law. You can get in touch at hello@planmydays.co.uk about anything on this page, including a request to see or delete information.
Before launch: confirm the hello@planmydays.co.uk mailbox is live and monitored, and add an ICO registration number here if one applies.
There is no account
PlanMyDay does not ask for your name, email address, phone number or date of birth, and there is nothing to sign up for. Saved places, day plans, memories, reminders and personalisation settings are stored in your own browser on your own device. They are not uploaded and PlanMyDay cannot see them.
Memory photos are held in your browser’s own storage on the device. They are never sent anywhere. Clearing your browser data removes all of it permanently, which is why the Saved screen offers a backup file you control.
Location
If you choose “Use where I am”, your browser asks your permission first and you can refuse. Your approximate coordinates are then used for that search only: they are passed to the mapping and search providers listed below so results can be found near you. Coordinates are not stored after the search and no location history is kept.
You never have to share your location. Typing a town or postcode works exactly the same way.
What is sent when you search
To return real results, the details of a search — the place, date, distance and the interests you chose — are sent to the services that provide them: Google Maps and Places, Viator, Ticketmaster, PredictHQ, OpenStreetMap and Open-Meteo for the weather. Hosting is by Netlify, which processes technical request data such as IP address and server logs in order to serve the site.
These companies are independent and handle that data under their own privacy terms. Nothing that identifies you personally is included, because PlanMyDay does not hold anything that identifies you.
Children’s ages
If you enter children’s ages, they are used to keep suggestions appropriate — and to exclude places that would not be suitable. Ages are stored on your device and sent with the search so results can be filtered. No name, photograph or anything else identifying a child is ever requested or stored, and an age on its own does not identify anyone.
Lawful basis
Location is used only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time in your browser or device settings. Everything else relies on legitimate interests: sending a search to a provider so results can come back is the service you asked for, and it cannot work otherwise.
Cookies, analytics and advertising
Essential storage. The storage PlanMyDay needs to work holds the features you asked for — your saved places, your plans, your reminders. Personalisation is off unless you turn it on, and can be reset at any time. There is no behavioural analytics and no tracking of you between sites.
Advertising and partner links. Two optional partner scripts can run: Travelpayouts (display ads) and Stay22 (which tags outbound booking links so we may earn commission). Both use cookies and similar device storage, and both share data with those partners. Stay22 never changes the price you pay.
Neither runs unless you say yes. They are not loaded when you arrive. They are only added to the page after you choose “Accept”. If you reject, or ignore the choice, they never load. Rejecting is as easy as accepting and limits no feature, price or link — it only means we are not paid.
Changing your mind. Use the button below at any time. Because a script that has already started cannot be unloaded, withdrawing consent reloads the page so both genuinely stop.
Websites you open from PlanMyDay set their own cookies once you are on them.
Affiliate links
Some booking and ticket links are affiliate links. If you book through one, PlanMyDay may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. These are marked where they appear. Commission never affects which places are suggested or how they are ranked — results are chosen on what suits your day, not on what pays.
Notifications
Reminders are only ever set because you asked for one. Your browser or device controls that permission and you can revoke it at any time. Reminders are held on your device, not on a server.
How long anything is kept
Everything you create stays on your device until you delete it or clear your browser. Search requests are not retained by PlanMyDay after results are returned. Netlify’s server logs are kept for a short period as part of normal hosting.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to access, correct, delete and port your data, and to object to how it is used. Because PlanMyDay holds no account and nothing that identifies you, most of this is directly in your hands: delete any saved item in the app, export a backup from the Me screen, or clear the site’s data in your browser to remove everything at once.
If you have a question or a complaint, email hello@planmydays.co.uk and it will be answered. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk, and you can do that without contacting PlanMyDay first.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects what happens to your information, the date below will change and the update will be described here.
