PlanMyDay is currently a prototype. This page explains what this version stores and what is sent to third-party services when you use it.
What stays on your device
Saved ideas, taste signals, website reminders and memory details are stored in your browser on this device. Memory photos are stored in your browser’s IndexedDB storage rather than being uploaded to PlanMyDay. Clearing browser/site data can remove them.
Location
If you choose “Use my location”, your browser asks for permission. Your approximate coordinates are used to find nearby results and may be sent through PlanMyDay’s server functions to mapping/search providers for that request. PlanMyDay does not intentionally keep a permanent location history in this prototype.
Searches and third parties
Search details can be sent to services used to return results, including Google Maps/Places, Viator, Ticketmaster, PredictHQ and Open‑Meteo. Hosting is provided by Netlify, which may process technical request data such as IP address and server logs. Those providers have their own privacy terms.
Reviews and booking links
Reviews shown in PlanMyDay may come from Google. If you open an external booking, transport or partner link, you leave PlanMyDay and the destination service’s privacy and cookie rules apply. Some links may be affiliate links, which can allow PlanMyDay to earn commission without changing the price you pay.
Cookies and analytics
This prototype does not currently use PlanMyDay advertising cookies or behavioural analytics. Device storage used for Saved, Memories and reminders supports features you ask for. Optional taste-learning/personalisation is only stored after you choose to allow it. Third-party sites you open from PlanMyDay may use their own cookies.
Notifications
If you ask for browser notifications, your browser/device controls that permission. Website reminders are stored locally. Calendar reminders are created only when you choose to add them.
How long information is kept
Device-stored Saved items, Memories, reminders and approved personalisation stay until you delete them or clear PlanMyDay site data. PlanMyDay does not currently keep a separate account database for this information. Hosting and API providers may keep security/technical logs under their own retention policies.
Your data-protection rights
Depending on the processing and the law that applies, you may have rights including access, correction, deletion, restriction and objection. UK users can also raise a concern with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). A controller contact address must be added here before wider public launch so people can exercise those rights directly.
Your choices
You can remove Saved items, Memories and reminders inside the app, reset taste learning, deny location/notification permissions, or clear PlanMyDay site data in your browser settings.
Before wider public launch
The operator’s legal name/contact email, formal retention details and any new analytics/database providers must be added here before this moves beyond prototype testing.
